After a great day of riding it's always nice to have a beautiful sunset to finish the day.

This is the backside of Halls. It has a large balcony that hangs out nearly over a small stream.

Halls on the River, a local favorite. This is Saturday night and cars are parked all along the highway and people are lined up waiting to get into the restaurant.

The area south and east of Lexington has miles and miles of stone fences that were built during the 1800's.

The Valley View Ferry. It is the oldest continually running business in the state of Ky. and dates to 1775. It may also be the oldest ferry in the nation.
One of many lookout points in the Red River Gorge.
Following a Harley through the tunnel.

Approaching the Nada Tunnel, built in 1910.

Looking across the valley at Natural Bridge

Looking up at Natural Bridge.

This is the "skinny" section of the trail beneath the arch.

Walking across the top of the sandstone arch.

This is the chair lift to Natural Bridge. You can walk the 1 1/2 mile trail free, but we were pressed for time. Yeah, that's it, we didn't have time to walk.

The road to Natural Bridge.

You too can do this. (:-) There are cables and foot/hand holds fastened to the face of the cliffs. After 30 minutes of instruction they'll harness you up and off you go.

This is Torrent Falls and a rock climber's paradise.

Phillip and Jaime hitting the twisties.

Coal country. A lot of these small towns started out as coal camps.

Part of Berea College. This is a beautiful campus with very well kept grounds.
Boone Tavern in Berea, Ky. This tavern is owned and operated by Berea College. All students go to Berea tuition free, but all have to work at one of the businesses that support the college.

My Old Kentucky Home State Park, Bardstown, Ky.
Old Talbott Tavern. Famous restaurant and landmark in Bardstown, Ky., the heart of bourbon country.

This one is for Stonewall. That's Hooters on the right and Liquor World on the left, looking across the street from the Best Western.
This is an old Bed and Breakfast in downtown Richmond.

Another example of the old architecture in the area.

This is the Clark County courthouse in Winchester. This area dates to the 1700's, so history is abundant. There are lots of well preserved examples of Victorian architecture as other styles from that period.

This is the Martin Castle. The interior portion burned a few years ago and is being rebuilt. It's located on Versailles Rd, about 25 miles from the rally site. Information here:

This is the breakfast "nook". Since it was once a Holiday Inn it had a full service restaurant. Now they only serve a full breakfast, but it's roomy, and set up buffet style.
This is HALF of the banquet room. The other half is behind me, separated by a folding partition. We'll be able to pull the partition back and double the space you see here.

In the unlikely even that a VROCer wants to get a little more exercise than lifting their bike off the sidestand this is available. The kids didn't quite know what to make of us taking pictures.

This is the pool area. That is Phillip Smith, #16245 waaaay down on the far end of the pool. It's the largest pool I've ever seen in a motel, but of course, being from Kentucky I'm sort of sheltered. (:-)

This room is typical of the rooms in the Best Western. 8 years ago it was a Holiday Inn, but Best Western took over and remodeled. Nearly the entire Inn has been renovated in the last year, with new furnishing and decorations.
